Interview with LuAnn Nies, Author

Meet LuAnn Nies, author of "Catrina's Cowboy" - Now available on Kindle - Published by Melange Books, LLC

LuAnn, when did you first consider yourself a writer?

I have always worked outside of the home, making sure that each time I left my hair and makeup was perfect. Then one day, after I had finished my third manuscript, I found myself sitting at my computer in fussy slippers, pajama pants, a t-shirt and an old sweater. I’d combed my hair with my fingers and didn’t have a lick of makeup on. I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and laughed. I guess it was then that I knew I was a writer and that I was in it for the long haul.

What do you do for fun and relaxation?

I love riding horse and although I don’t have any of my own anymore, I have friends who let me ride their horses. These days it’s so much cheaper to ride someone else’s horse than to have one of your own.

But now I have a grandson who keeps me busy. For now, we ride the range, rope cattle, and chase the bad guys alongside Gene, Roy, and the Duke from the rocking chair in front of the fireplace.

Do you think you’ll ever retire from writing?

I suppose there will come a time when my fingers will no longer type as fast as I’d like them too. But as long as my imagination has free-range, there will always be stories to tell.

Where do you see yourself as a writer ten years in the future?

Hind sight is 20/20. I’d like to think I would still be writing, but that I’d have a little more change in my pocket then I do now.

What are you working on now?

I write Romantic suspense about country girls and their wild adventures.

Provide information about your current work in progress.

The manuscript I’m working on now is about a young woman from North Dakota who feels that she’s lived her life in everyone else’s shadow. Looking for adventure, she takes a vacation to England and bumps into a national jewel thief and an undercover agent who turns out to be a Duke. Sometimes the spot light can be a dangerous place.

What do you hope to write in the future?

Besides a few contemporary romantic suspense manuscripts, I have a couple historical romances that I’d like to complete and submit.

What can readers look for next from you?

I’d like to think that my books offer characters that you can relate to, witty dialog, humorous and dangerous situations, and above all—romance.

Where can readers/fans see about you?

You can learn more about my books and see photos from some of my adventures on my website. Please check me out at:
